We are Learners For Learning, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educational equity and access.
Our main website is https://learnersforlearning.org, and our learning management system (LMS) is hosted at https://my.learnersforlearning.org.
What Data We Collect and Why
We collect data to support educational delivery, maintain account security, and improve user experience.
On learnersforlearning.org (Main Website):
- Contact form submissions (name, email, message).
- Comments (with IP and browser agent for spam filtering).
- Uploaded media (images, documents).
On my.learnersforlearning.org (Moodle LMS):
As shown in our account registration interface, we collect:
- Username and password (stored securely).
- First and last name.
- Email address.
- Country and language preference.
- Account activity data (logins, pages visited, course progress).
- Messages, forum posts, and private messaging content.
- Submitted assignments, quizzes, and learning artifacts.
- Grades and feedback.
- IP address, device/browser metadata (for security logs and analytics).
This information enables us to manage course access, facilitate communication between users, provide academic feedback, and protect the platform against misuse.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without verified parental or guardian consent.
- If you are under 13, you must have a parent or legal guardian create or approve your account.
- Parents/guardians can review, edit, or delete a child’s information at any time by contacting us at team@learnersforlearning.org
We do not use children’s data for advertising or commercial profiling.
EU/EEA Users (GDPR Compliance)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users residing in the EU/EEA have the following rights:

How long we retain your data
- Comments and forum posts: Stored indefinitely unless deleted by you or an administrator.

- Academic data (e.g. quizzes, grades): Retained for as long as necessary to support educational and reporting needs, and legal compliance.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
We only share your data with:
- Our internal team and course administrators.
- Third-party service providers (e.g., MoodleCloud, hosting providers, analytics tools) under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Authorities if required by law, or to protect our legal rights.
What rights you have over your data
You may:
- View or edit your personal information by logging into your account.
- Request a data export or deletion by contacting team@learnersforlearning.org
- Deactivate your account (by request).
- Report misuse or privacy concerns to our support team.
Parental rights under COPPA and user rights under GDPR are fully respected.
Security of Your Information
We take strong technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure login and password encryption.
- Limited admin access to sensitive data.
- TLS/SSL encryption of data in transit.
- Routine audits and updates.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use personal data to make automated decisions that significantly affect users (e.g., no profiling, automated grading without human review).
